We do not need to know who you are.
Tap&Reuse™ works without an app, an account or your name. This page explains the little we do process, and why.
The short version. When you tap to borrow, we link the item to a reference for your payment method so we know the item is out and who to charge if it is not returned. We do not ask for your name, we do not create an account for you, and we do not store your full card number.

1. Who we are
Kleen Hub ApS, Applebys Plads 7, 5. 1411 Copenhagen K, Denmark, is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at care@kleenhub.com.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers the Tap&Reuse™ borrowing and return system, our support channels, and this website. Where Tap&Reuse™ is operated at a location by a partner, that partner may also process data under their own policy.
3. What we process
When you borrow an item:
- A reference to the payment method you tapped. This is supplied by our payment provider and is not your full card number.
- The identifier of the item you borrowed.
- The location, date and time of the borrow, and of the return.
- Whether a non-return fee was charged.
When you contact us:
- Your email address and whatever you choose to tell us, including any transaction details you provide so we can locate a charge.
What we do not process:
- Your name, address or date of birth.
- Your full payment card number.
- Any account or password, because there is no account.
4. Why we process it, and our legal basis
- To operate the borrow and return system, including releasing the link to your payment method once an item comes back. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
- To charge a non-return fee where an item is not returned within the return period. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
- To answer support requests and process refunds. Legal basis: performance of a contract, and our legitimate interest in resolving complaints.
- To prevent misuse and fraud, and to report on how the system is performing. Reporting to our partners uses aggregated figures that do not identify you. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
- To meet accounting and tax obligations where a fee has been charged. Legal basis: legal obligation.
5. Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, in the following categories:
- Payment service providers, who handle the card link and any charge.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers.
- The provider of our refund request form and our email service, for support.
- Operating partners at the location where you borrowed, where needed to resolve a query about that location.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising. A current list of our processors is available on request at care@kleenhub.com.
6. Transfers outside the EEA
Some of our providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision or by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, together with additional safeguards where required. You can ask us for details.
7. How long we keep it
Borrow and return records are kept for as long as needed to operate the system and resolve disputes, and are then deleted or aggregated so they no longer identify a payment method. Where a fee has been charged, the associated transaction record is kept for the period required by Danish accounting law. Support correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, and under the UK GDPR if you are in the United Kingdom, you have the right to ask us for access to your data, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or provide it in a portable form. You can also object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests.
Because we do not hold your name, we will normally need the reference of the transaction from your banking app in order to find your records. Without it we may not be able to identify you, and in that case we cannot action the request.
To exercise any of these rights, email care@kleenhub.com.
9. Cookies and this website
This website uses only the cookies necessary for it to function. If we introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first at care@kleenhub.com so we can try to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In Denmark this is Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.dk). In the United Kingdom it is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). You may also complain to the authority in your own country of residence.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this page applies, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
